Despite the weather we were proud to see 9 competitors come for todays match. Two were novice shooters and another was using a newly purchased rifle and untested ammunition. As conditions weren't great the decision was made to begin shooting the 75m component while the rain held off as this part of the match cannot be shot from the shelter of the fixed firing point. Almost from the outset competitors shot some very impressive scores. This culminated in the 50m component when F.H., a junior shoot who has never shot with open sights before, shot 2 Super Vs. All of the scores were encouraging with A.W. taking first overall and in the Cadet Class with a commanding 139 out of a possible 150, W.R. taking first 22LR Trainer and second overall with the club's Norinco JW-25a trainer rifle, and B.M. using his Martini Cadet & untested ammo to take 3rd overall and 2nd in the Cadet Class. All of today's competitors should be proud of their scores, especially those who competed in Cadet & Trainer for the first time.
