Martini Mania 2016!
SSAA Goulburn Branch is proud to announce five Cadet & Trainer matches for 2016 as well as a whole day Martini event. The 310 Cadet & 22 Trainer matches will be held at the following dates and times. All will be the standard 30-round, 50/75/100m 3P event.
But the really exciting event is the big whole day Martini shoot on Sunday October 30th. The branch hope to attract Martinis of all description to this event as well as the usual cast of 310s. At this point we foresee that all shooters, regardless of calibre, rifle and sight type or rifle age, will shoot the standard 3P 30-round 50/75/100m match we shoot each time. It allows us to have uniform competition across all rifles and to run a standard 310 Cadet match within the whole day.
However, an additional 300yd long range component will be shot from the 300yd mound on the other side of the road up to the main butts for any competitors wishing to try their skills and, time permitting, a rapid fire benchrest match at the end of the day will also be held with a focus on speed.
Any Martinis are welcome - target and sporting rimfires, standard military and sporterised Cadets of all descriptions, original Martini-actioned Rabbit & Rook and Kangaroo rifles by Braendlin, Francotte, Tranter and the like, original military Martini Enfields and Martini Henrys and sporting large frame Martinis, both originals from firms like Bonehill, Westley Richards and Silvers, and sporterised ones as well. Scoped and open sighted rifles are equally welcome and targets will be slightly modified to take into account their differing accuracy.
So, put October 30th, 2016 into your calendar and encourage anyone else you know who has interesting Martinis, be it big black powder beasties right down to little rimfires, to come along. We'll be putting information in NSW Shooter and Australian Shooter as soon as details are confirmed so we can have as many Martini officianados as possible.
